Chefs take a smoke break in one of my friend Tryg’s photos from Chongqing. Halved carp await buyers at a market in the second photo. Chongqing is a city almost as big as Shanghai and Beijing, big enough to be designated as a province unto itself. He and my friend Ian encounter nightmarish food poisoning, more super-greasy street food, and a wedding in which folks talk on their cell phones and shout across the isles at each other during the ceremony. There’s even the gag-inducing Chinese delicacy of red wine mixed with Pepsi. Read about it in Ian and Tryg’s fourth post on their blog, Wander Sage: http://sagewanders.blogspot.com/2011/12/chongqing-hate.html
